WoodMaster Portable Buildings, a Division of Tuff Shed, the industry leader in storage buildings, is currently looking for a Carpenter at our Plant in Cobden, IL. We're looking for motivated and team oriented individuals!
• Responsible for constructing, assembly, and ensuring the quality of wooden structures

DUTIES INCLUDE:
• A willingness to learn the construction industry, basic carpentry skills, basic painting skills
• Ability to operate air compressors, air tools, hammer, saw, drill, and other basic power tools preferred
• A willingness to learn basic arithmetic as well as read a tape measure, working drawings and speed square
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work well as a team.
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• May be required to successfully complete WMPB forklift certification and/or the use of a mule.
• Ability and willingness to learn & interpret blueprints.
• Team oriented mindset and work collaboratively with team members.
• Reads and interprets work orders, specifications, and blueprints to understand project requirements.
• Aligns and fits hardware such as locks, handles, and hinges.
• Ensures measurements are accurate for the construction/assembly of products.
• Uses hand and power tools during the construction/assembly process.
• Caulks, seals and paints products.
• Inspects and adjusts products ensuring built to specifications.
• Informs the Carpenter Foreman when inventory levels are low.
• Complies with Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements including maintaining a clean and organized work area each day from start to finish.
• Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a clean workspace.
• Immediately informs the Carpenter Foreman of unsafe working conditions.
• Performing all other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by the WMPB management.
• Carpentry employees will be required to work overtime (including some weekend work) in order to fulfil the requirements of the

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Common knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well as a member of the team
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at least 100 feet
