Job Description

You prioritise the safety of yourself and others at work, both physically and mentally.

In this role you’ll

  • Carrying out all carpentry trade activities and bridge maintenance on the Iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge
  • Perform given tasks to specified standards and tolerances and accept responsibility for the completion of a function or activity to quality specification within the required timeframes
  • Perform bridge maintenance and form work including painting
  • Deal with routine problems that arise during the course of work without support
  • Determine the most appropriate means of performing given activities from a wide range of established methods.
  • Work safely in accordance with Sydney Harbour Bridge and TfNSW safety management practices and systems.
  • Work a 9 Day fortnight roster

About you

  • You are a Trades Qualified Carpenter that enjoys working a high performing team and who enjoys a challenging and rewarding career
  • Have experience in a Civil environment, form work, panel work and/or shopfitting, bridge maintenance and construction or a civil construction environment
  • You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting
  • Willing to work outside normal working hours, attend callouts, and work weekends when required

You must hold the following licenses and tickets and one of the listed qualifications:

Licence and Tickets

  • White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Be able to work at heights

Qualifications

  • Carpenter and Joiner
  • Construction Carpenter
  • Bridge and Wharf Carpenter
  • Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter or equivalent

Applicants must be based within 75km distance of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, NSW or willing to relocate to within 75km of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
