Job Description

Successful candidates will be part of a dive team that utilizes both scuba and surface supplied diving. Electric Boat Divers perform a wide range of activities related to underwater ships husbandry specific to the submarine industry under all weather conditions. The Diver will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to construction, water borne maintenance and repair work throughout the shipyard. Divers use a multitude of hydraulic, pneumatic, and hand held tools. When not diving, divers perform regular maintenance of their diving equipment and perform carpenter work as needed. Traveling to various sites may be required per job/task.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 2+ years technical experience
  • Minimum skill designation is a tender/diver
  • Surface supplied diving certificate from ADCI accredited school or military equivalent
  • A six- month probationary evaluation
  • Divers must be able to qualify and maintain radiation worker qualifications
  • Obtain a secret clearance
  • Availability to work all shifts
  • Pass an initial medical examination by a physician qualified to perform commercial diver medical exam

Preferred:

  • Current dive log book
  • Familiarity with carpentry tools
