Overview of the Role

The position is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work that includes construction, repair, and remodeling of structures and facilities. Work is carried out in accordance with established standards and best practices of the carpentry trade, ensuring quality craftsmanship, safety, and durability. Tasks may involve interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and completing projects efficiently while maintaining a high level of workmanship.

Examples of duties

Two years of experience or training in the carpentry trade.

Job Duties:

  • Performs general carpentry work involved with the repair, alteration, or maintenance of buildings and all related structures.
  • Builds or repairs shelves, cabinets, windows, furniture, concrete forms, trim, ceilings, and partitions.
  • Prepares vacant units to be re-rented; assists with replacing interior doors, door locks and hinges, door jambs and trim; re-screens windows and doors; replaces broken window panes, etc.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational - up to 24 months

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
