Under general supervision, performs routine repair, maintenance, and limited new construction of structural woodwork, equipment and fixtures, such as display racks, instrument cases, stands, and so forth. Inspects work site and reads blueprints to determine work to be done, as indicated on job orders. Calculates quantities of material needed and orders same. Performs such activities as measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding, and fastening. Operates powered machinery such as lathes, saws, planers, sanders, and so forth. Maintains required tolerances of sizes to produce quality finish. Erects and repairs metal partitions and shelving. Installs and repairs locks, doors and related hardware, door closers, doorstops and wall bearings. Assists in pining locks, cuts keys, installs built-in locks on narcotics cabinets and drawers. Forms, pours, and levels concrete. Constructs and maintains plaster and drywall. Performs roof patching and repair. At management's discretion, performs other related duties consistent with minimum level of preparation and training required and department demands/needs. [BRASSRING IMPORT 9/1/16]

Qualifications

1. Ability to read, write, follow written and oral instructions and speak English; possess a certificate in Pneumatics and Hydraulics or in Climate Control Technology or combination of equivalent experience; or possess an Associate�s Degree in Electronics. 2. Depending on level and area of specialty, one to two years experience in either industrial repair work; welding; working with hospital equipment; welding equipment; or refrigeration or cooling systems repair. 3. May also require five to eight years motor control experience, five years pneumatic and DDC controls experience and three years computer programming experience, depending on area of specialty.
