Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven Carpenter to join our team! You will be carrying out maintenance and/or building tasks throughout our homes whilst offering exceptional customer service.

Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across West and North Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities...

  • Carry out carpentry maintenance, repairs, and installation work in line with the Freebridge Standard and industry best practice, including doors, kitchens, flooring, fencing, windows, and general timber repairs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Use your carpentry skills and experience to diagnose faults, identify appropriate repair solutions, and complete work efficiently using your own initiative
  • Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues regarding carpentry works, including explaining repairs, materials required, and expected completion timescales
  • Work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and safe working practices to protect yourself, colleagues, customers, and the public
  • Manage carpentry jobs from initial inspection through to completion, including measuring and specifying materials, ordering supplies, completing repairs, carrying out post-work checks, and ensuring all paperwork or electronic records are completed accurately and on time

We are looking for someone who has...

  • City & Guilds (or other recognised awarding body) trade qualification in carpentry
  • At least 3 years experience in a maintenance environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work on own initiative
  • Full valid UK driving licence

Freebridge Community Housing is the largest not for profit housing provider in West Norfolk. We own and manage close to 7,500 homes in total. We are committed to our vision of Developing Homes and Creating Opportunities for People within West and North Norfolk

Freebridge was established in April 2006 and since then has been continually evolving to meet the individual needs of our customers and the changing requirements within the housing sector.
