Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Carpenter, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.14 - £28.28 per hour

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Carpenter to join the Housing Property Services team. The role involves delivering high-quality carpentry repairs and maintenance across tenanted and void properties, ensuring homes are safe, well-maintained, and meet excellent customer service standards.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out carpentry repairs and associated trade works to domestic properties
• Complete responsive, planned, empty homes and capital repairs
• Plan and organise workload to meet service targets and appointments
• Use PDA/mobile systems to record work completed and materials used
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle responsibly

Qualifications:

• Recognised C&G Apprenticeship in Carpentry – NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
• Multi-skills training to minimum NVQ Level 3 or willingness to undertake training

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering high-quality carpentry in domestic properties
• Good knowledge of construction health & safety practices
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Clean UK driving licence
