ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG Strathallan is seeking a reliable, approachable and safety-conscious Carpark Attendant to join our school community from Term 1, 2027. This is a permanent, term-time-only position working 36.25 hours per week, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with people and contributing to a safe, welcoming and well-organised school environment.

As our Carpark Attendant, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth operation of the school carpark, particularly during busy arrival and departure periods. You will help manage traffic flow, assist students, parents and visitors, monitor parking areas and ensure that school traffic and pedestrian movements are managed safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be friendly, professional and confident when communicating with a wide range of people. You will have a calm and practical approach, be comfortable working independently and be able to respond appropriately to changing situations. Previous experience in a similar role, traffic management, security, facilities or a school environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values being part of a community and understands the importance of creating a safe environment for children and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitoring and managing vehicle and pedestrian movements around the school carpark.
• Supporting safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up procedures.
• Providing a welcoming and helpful presence for students, families, staff and visitors.
• Identifying and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Following school health, safety and emergency procedures.
• Supporting the wider school maintenance team as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A full, current New Zealand driver licence (required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
• A strong commitment to student safety and wellbeing.
• A calm, patient and courteous approach, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up periods.
• Good situational awareness and the ability to identify and respond to potential safety hazards.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• A practical, proactive approach and willingness to assist where needed.
• Previous experience in a school, traffic management, security, facilities or customer-facing environment would be advantageous.
