Job Description

AMHC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Caribou Apartments Coordinator to oversee housing operations and support tenant well-being in a residential setting. This role combines property management, tenant support, and behavioral health case management, making it ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, and community-focused.

The Caribou Apartments Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the Caribou Apartments facility, ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive living environment for tenants. This role also provides direct case management services through the Behavioral Health Home (BHH) program, supporting tenants and other assigned clients in achieving stability and community integration.

Key Responsibilities

Housing & Tenant Coordination

  • Manage apartment applications and maintain an active waitlist
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins, transitions, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate tenant files in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor shared spaces and address tenant concerns to maintain a positive environment
  • Financial & Facility Operations
  • Support budget management in collaboration with leadership
  • Collect tenant rent and implement HUD-based rent adjustments
  • Coordinate and participate in HUD inspections (REAC, MOR) and compliance activities
  • Oversee maintenance needs, vendor relationships, and emergency repairs
  • Respond to urgent facility issues, including after-hours situations

Housing Subsidy Administration (Vickers Program)

  • Manage waitlists, referrals, and tenant occupancy processes
  • Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, and transfers
  • Complete annual recertifications and ensure compliance with subsidy guidelines
  • Coordinate required housing inspections
  • Behavioral Health & Case Management
  • Provide Behavioral Health Home (BHH) and Community Integration services
  • Develop supportive, therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Assist clients in goal setting, skill development, and wellness planning
  • Coordinate care and connect clients to community resources
  • Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and group facilitation
  • Maintain accurate documentation and meet service delivery standards

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Work occurs in office, residential, and community-based settings
  • Travel within the service area required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Schedule

  • Full-time, non-exempt position
  • Hours vary based on program and tenant needs
  • May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities

Supervision

  • Reports to the Residential Services Manager
  • Clinically supported by the Behavioral Health Home Clinical Consultant

Requirements

This position will be divided between the Caribou Apartments 25% and Adult Case Management 75%

· Associate degree in a Human Services field is required.

· Two years of directly relevant experience is required.

· Must be certified at the MHRT-C level at the time of hire.

· Experience with housing services is a plus.
