Job Description

The role will oversee the planning and execution of cargo operations activities, ensuring smooth and efficient processes throughout the shipment lifecycle (Load/Discharge & vessel reconciliation). It also involves collaborating with various stakeholders to coordinate load, discharge, vessel finalization, and adherence to deadlines and cut-offs as well as maintenance of the same.

  • Review and verify cargo documentation, including container lists, missing documentation, dangerous goods (DG) acceptance, and customs status.
  • Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely load and discharge information exchange.
  • Provide special cargo manifests as required and communicate any changes or additions to the load list
  • Prepare and update load lists, including container numbers, stowage positions, and DG information.
  • Monitor and approve late gate requests, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of containers not in the terminal, missing documentation, and containers that did not materialize(shortfall).
  • Generate and share reports, including break bulk (BB) information, dangerous cargo manifests, empty container details, and tank container information.
  • Collaborate with teams to reconcile planned versus actual load/discharge information and identify discrepancies.
  • Generate load and discharge counts, providing accurate data for reporting purposes.
  • Prepare terminal departure reports (TDR) as needed, ensuring comprehensive and timely communication.
  • Maintain and update deadlines and cut-offs in FIS/Workflow tool, ensuring adherence to schedules.
  • Create and approve work orders for cargo operations activities, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
  • Check blockage of custom-related issues and request the release of cargo after clearance.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office applications.
  • With a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to work systematically under pressure.

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • Previous knowledge/experience of Hapag-Lloyd systems/FIS.
