Opportunity

We are seeking a caretaker to join our team. Our caretakers are responsible for the performance of the day-to-day cleaning of the physical facilities and grounds of the property(ies). These responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with the policies of MetroPlains the direct supervision of the community manager.

of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain building and grounds in good clean order.
• Walk through halls and laundry rooms daily and pick up the areas.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways and laundry rooms.
• Make sure that work by service providers is done regularly including garbage collection, snow plowing, grounds maintenance, and maintenance repairs.
• Shovel snow, use snow blower, rake leaves, pull weeds, pick up litter as needed, sweep sidewalks and trash enclosures at least weekly; more often if needed.
• Walk the grounds daily. Keep grounds free of debris and keep dumpster area picked up.
• Clean maintenance areas, garage, mechanical rooms, and storage areas.
• Unit Turns to ensure apartments are ready to rent
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidates should possess the following:

1. High School or equivalent education with one to two years related experience and/or training preferred or a combination of relevant work experience and education is required
2. Must have experience in the following areas: HVAC, EPA Universal, Boilers License and/or Pool Certification
3. Ability to provide training and support on-site to other maintenance team members
4. Demonstrated support for MetroPlains Management maintenance procedures and policies
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people
6. A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
7. Customer service skills are highly desirable
