Home Care Aide CNA HHA Flexible Shifts
Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring home care aides, CNAs, and HHAs for flexible caregiver shifts with seniors and adults in their homes.
This is a W2 employee position. It is not a 1099 contractor role or registry position.
We are a local, family owned home care agency operated by a husband and wife team. We are looking for caregivers who want flexible home care opportunities and also understand that once they accept a shift, clients are depending on them.
Pay is typically $16 to $18 dollars per hour for most cases. Higher rates may be available for select assignments based on client needs, schedule, location, and case complexity.
About the schedule
Home care offers a variety of shift options because every client has different needs. Current opportunities may include:
- Weekday daytime shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Morning and afternoon shifts
- Evening shifts
- Some overnight opportunities
- Minimum 4 hour shifts
- Longer 8 hour and 12 hour shifts when available
We work to match caregivers with cases based on availability, skills, client needs, and reasonable travel distance. This is not a fixed facility position. The work takes place in client homes throughout the local service area.
Flexible scheduling does not mean unreliable scheduling. A good fit for this role is someone who communicates availability clearly, accepts appropriate cases, and shows up as scheduled.
What you will do
You will help clients remain safe, comfortable, and supported at home. Common responsibilities include:
- Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assisting with mobility and transfers
- Preparing meals
- Helping with light housekeeping related to the client
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Giving medication reminders
- Helping with errands or appointments when included in the care plan
- Reporting changes, concerns, or schedule issues to the office

Requirements
- Valid Florida CNA license or HHA certificate required
- Successful completion of a Level II Background Screening required
- Florida Clearinghouse: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
- Classroom CPR certification required
- Completion of Florida required trainings, including HIV AIDS, Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias, and Assistance With Self Administration of Medication
- Reliable transportation to client homes
- Caregiving experience with seniors or adults who need personal care assistance
- Strong communication skills
- Professional and dependable attitude
- Comfort with pets preferred, since many clients have animals in the home
