JOB PURPOSE

The Law School Career Services Office provides comprehensive career development support to students through individual advising, programming, employer engagement, and resource management, operating as a collaborative team dedicated to connecting students with meaningful professional opportunities.

This work study position plays a vital role in supporting the department's daily operations by assisting with event coordination, maintaining career resources, managing communications, and providing frontline support to students and employers.

This role offers valuable experience in higher education administration, event management, professional communications, and client services; skills that are highly transferable and will strengthen the student's resume and knowledge of legal career paths while providing practical insights into career development operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● The student assistant will help ensure smooth operations of career fairs, review and approve job postings, perform administrative assignments related to programming and workshops.

● Other duties as assigned may include resource development, front desk coverage, creating promotional event flyers, posting internships and jobs, answering phone calls and addressing communications with members of the public where appropriate.

SCHEDULE

● Work shifts available between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mondays - Thursdays

● Student must be able to work 8 hours hours per week, Mondays - Thursdays

RATE OF PAY

● $18.00 / hour

WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT

● Federal work study required

When working in Career Services, employees must dress in business casual attire.

PREFERENCES

● A reliable, flexible, patient person who is a quick learner with good judgment, leadership skills, and has strong interpersonal skills

● Work experience in an office setting is a plus

● Experience in drafting and editing also a plus

Eligibility to Work
