Job Description

Help People Build Careers That Last

Goodwill of Western New York is seeking a Career Coach/Work Readiness Trainer to support participants in the Goodskills Career Builder program. This position combines classroom instruction, individual career coaching, community outreach, and long-term employment support.

What You’ll Do

  • Interview, assess, and enroll eligible program participants.
  • Facilitate engaging work readiness and professional development training.
  • Coach participants on career goals, résumés, applications, and interviewing.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback on attendance, work habits, professional behavior, and interpersonal skills.
  • Help participants identify and address barriers to employment.
  • Connect participants with employment opportunities, training providers, and community resources.
  • Support participants during experiential learning and worksite placements.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and track program outcomes.
  • Provide employment and retention support for up to three years after graduation.
  • Build relationships with community organizations and prospective participants.
  • Transport participants to program-related locations using an agency vehicle.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience preferred.
  • One to three years of experience working with unemployed or underemployed individuals.
  • Coaching, training, supervisory, or classroom management experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide candid feedback and manage challenging conversations.
  • Strong communication, organization, time-management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with case management or customer relationship management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Compensation

$45,000 to $52,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. We regularly review our pay and benefits to stay competitive.
