Career and Technical Education Teacher
Grades 9�12
Orleans Career and Technical Education Center is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educator to lead our Vocationally Individually Paced (VIP) program serving students in grades 9�12. The VIP program is designed to provide individualized vocational instruction, career exploration, and employability skill development for students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will create a supportive, engaging learning environment that prepares students for success in post-secondary education, employment, and independent living.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualized vocational instruction aligned with student needs, interests, and career goals.
- Implement hands-on learning experiences that foster workplace readiness, career awareness, and essential employability skills.
- Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and develop instructional plans based on student goals.
- Establish partnerships with community businesses and support work-based learning opportunities when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other district initiatives.
Qualifications
- New York State Teaching Certification desired. Orleans/Niagara BOCES is able to support obtainment of certification
- Vocational education experience preferred.
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Commitment to preparing students with the academic, technical, and employability skills necessary for future success.
Position is .5 FTE 11:45am-3:15pm
Requirements: New York State Certification-Qualified candidates may be supported by BOCES in obtaining appropriate certification
Anticipated Salary: $54,200-$92,000 at .5 FTE commensurate with experience.
