About PRONIA

PRONIA [Pron’-ya] empowers, advocates and cares for the Australian Greek community.

From its origins as a vital support system for the first wave of vulnerable Greek migrants, to building a strong community over 48 years in the making. And now paving the way for whole new generation to realise their potential. Our comprehensive support services, in-depth cultural knowledge, educational expertise and advocacy is undertaken with the aim of creating a stronger community that enables each and every person to overcome disadvantage and reach their potential.

PRONIA means ‘to provide’ or ‘make provision for’ in Greek, but of course it also means more than that. Its deeper connotations of ‘care’ and ‘forethought’ lie at the heart of our mission.
