Senior Manager Conveyors, Controls, Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Engineering team
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Manager to lead our Conveyors, Controls, Automation, and Robotics Manufacturing Engineering team within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving the execution of automation and controls projects across Body, Paint, and General Assembly operations, while advancing digital validation throughout emulation, off line programing and integration as well as equipment reliability strategies.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership capabilities to develop a high-performing engineering team and implement innovative, cost-effective automation solutions that enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team specializing in conveyors, controls, automation, and robotics.
- Oversee the execution of controls and automation projects across Body, Paint, and General Assembly shops, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Drive an initiative, development and implementation of equipment data collection to enable predictive and preventive maintenance strategies and enable root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Champion digital transformation initiatives, including: throughput simulation, PLC software emulation, Offline robot programming and Plant floor system integration
- Promote systemic standardization across manufacturing systems and processes.
- Develop and deploy innovative, low-cost automation solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all manufacturing engineering, production, maintenance, IT and program management teams.
- Execute new program launches with a focus on automation readiness, system integration, and operational stability.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering technical growth and leadership capabilities within the team.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field required; advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on automation and controls within the automotive industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex automation projects.
- Strong expertise in PLC programming and controls systems, Robotics integration and offline programming, Conveyor systems and Industrial automation technologies
- Experience with maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with AI, digital manufacturing tools such as simulation, emulation, and data analytics platforms.
