What you will be doing:
In this position, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Care Facility Licensing Surveyors who maintain a statewide workload of licensed childcare facilities, including conducting on-site inspections and investigations to determine compliance with the State of Alaska Child Care Licensing Statutes, Regulations, and Policies and Procedures. You will apply knowledge of Child Care Licensing requirements to providers, partner agency members, and the general public.
Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and issuing Reports of Inspection, Reports of Investigation, Notices of Violation, Enforcement Actions, and ensuring the child care facility is in full compliance before the issuance of a Child Care License.
This Postion Requires Occasional Travel within the State of Alaska.

This position is located in the Anchorage Child Care Program Office at the Frontier Building. Located in midtown Anchorage, Alaska.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Training or education in social services, education, health care, mental health, juvenile justice, or a closely related field; and/or progressively responsible professional experience providing licensing and consultative services to child and adult residential care facilities, foster home, child day care facilities and child placement agencies; or providing social casework such as, but not limited to, adoption, foster home care, child protection, and individual or family counseling; investigations or similar case management; and/or performing probation-related work.
Special Note:
“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
