Title: Care Corps Trainee

Program: Care Corps Healthcare Training Program – (Next Step)

Salary Range: $17.00 per hour

Description:

The Care Corps trainees will complete a 7-week training program preparing them to start a fulfilling job in the behavioral mental health field as a Psychiatric Social Health Technician. The training program will be a mix of classroom learning, use of clinical simulation labs, crisis prevention and other in-depth training at NYC Health + Hospitals and Project Renewal locations. Trainees will receive a stipend for the training hours at NYC Health + Hospitals, obtain certifications, and receive assistance with the job application and hiring process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties of the Care Corps Trainee include the following activities

• Attend 4 weeks of classroom training
• Attend 3 weeks of clinical simulation lab and in-depth training at NYC Health + Hospitals locations
• Actively engage in learning and obtainment of required certificates
• Apply for a Psychiatric Social Health Technician position with NYC Health and Hospitals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 months’ experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Proof of COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
