Join Our Team as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at the Care Center!
Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? We're looking for a compassionate and reliable individual to take on the role of the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at our Care Center, where you'll play a vital part in supporting our residents and staff.

Position Summary
Primary Responsibilities: As our HUC, you will:
- File important reports from Lab, X-ray, and other facility areas.
- Create and maintain new charts for admissions.
- Ensure resident records are up to date by purging outdated information.
- Prepare rooms for new residents, including setting up name tags, door tags, and admission checklists.
- Organize and label discharge charts, sending them to Resident Medical Records.
- Maintain and update resident labels in charts as directed by the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Assist with resident appointments and transportation needs.
- Assist the Charge Nurse and Nursing Leadership team with administrative tasks as delegated.
- Assist residents with ADL’s as needed and float to work the floor as the team needs.
Secondary Responsibilities: In addition to your primary duties, you'll provide backup coverage in two important areas:
Scheduler Support for the Care Center:
- Assist with daily call-in coverage and day-to-day scheduling.
- Help maintain accurate daily staffing worksheets and handle scheduling tasks in Paycom.
- Post the daily staffing schedule for the team to see.
- Assist primary Scheduler to maintain and publish a consistent schedule.
Business Office Assistant Support for the Care Center:
- Post deposits, reconcile bank statements, and assist with resident purchases.
- Help manage Representative Payee accounts and handle administrative tasks like setting up payment plans and addressing overdo bill pay.
- Assist admissions team to secure insurance coverage and complete admission paperwork.
This is a diverse and fulfilling role where you’ll support both residents and staff in a meaningful way. Whether you're assisting with vital records, coordinating schedules, or helping with day-to-day administrative tasks, your work will have a direct impact on the quality of care we provide.
Position Type
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. No weekends or holidays are required.

QualificationsIdeal Candidate
- Medical Secretary Certificate or Health Unit Coordinator training preferred
- Pays close attention to detail
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, emergent, and non-emergent settings
- Responsive to delegation and working as a team player
