North Shore Health is seeking applicants for a Care Center Director of Nursing at North Shore Health. The DON is responsible for the leadership to plan, develop, direct, coordinate, evaluate and revise the efficient and effective delivery of quality nursing care at North Shore Health Care Center designed in the Household Model of Care. Provides leadership for the implementation and evaluation of departmental goals, standards of performance, resident safety and quality initiatives and oversees corrective action plans. Ensures North Shore Health meets regulatory, legal and organizational guidelines. Ensures resident care and services are provided and improved through interdisciplinary teamwork, using clinical practice guidelines, evidence based outcomes or best practice recommendations while creating an experience of home that uplifts resident choice and opportunities for a meaningful life and promotes resident and family satisfaction. North Shore Health Care Center is a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) licensed by the State of Minnesota
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Three (3) years supervisory/management experience (may include charge, Assistant Head Nurse, Head Nurse, Administrative Supervisor, Nurse Manager, etc.) in an skilled nursing facility.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or willingness to obtain within two (2) years.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. BLS Certification with a designation of "BLS Provider" from the American Heart Association.

The hospital opened for business in 1958 as a county owned facility. The first wing of the original care center was added in the 1960's, followed by a second wing in the early 70's. In 1990, the hospital and care center were re-organized under Minnesota statutes to become a hospital district with taxing authority. The district is governed by a five member elected board of directors.
As the only hospital and care center in Cook County, we have a large and diverse service area. Our customers include not only year round and seasonal residents; we also serve the many people who visit Cook County and the BWCA recreation area.
