
ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
1. Providebasicnursingcarethatalignswiththevision,mission,philosophy, goals, and objectives of the nursing services and the hospital.
2. Notifythenursingleadersofanysituationsthatimpactthequalityof care.
3. Obtain unit report and assignment at the beginning of each shift and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Unit Manager or Senior Registered Nurse.
4. Daily routine:
· Receiveandregisterpatientsupontheirarrivalandassistpatients accordingly
· Assist doctors in completing patient admission forms, ensuring accuracy andefficiency,andprovidingessentialassistanceduringexaminationsand medical procedures for optimal care and treatment outcomes.
· Conductsregularnursingroundstoassesspatients’needsand communicate with them and their families.
· Preparesandtidiespatients’bedsandlinensas needed.
· Disinfectsbeds,furnitureandequipmentandorganizesafterutilizing them.
· Keepsthearea,store,fridgeanditsfacilitiescleanand tidy.
· Answerphonecallsandrelay messages.
· Attendantstopatientscallthebell promptly.
· Escortspatientstootherservicesfordiagnostic tests.
· Dispatchesspecimenstothelaboratoryandcollects results
· Collectpharmacyandsurgicalsuppliesfrompharmacyandthestoreas required to maintain adequate stock levels for operations.
· Ensureoxygentankscontinuoussupplyforemergency needs.
· Guidepatientsandtheirfamiliestothecashierforpaymentprocessing after receiving medical services.
5. Assiststhetrainedstaffinvarious aspects:
· Carried out of nursing care, such as patient comfort, safety, nutrition, hygiene,admission,transfer,dressing,intravenouslines,catheterization, etc.
· Cleansanddisinfectsthetrolleyandinstrumentsafteruseandstoresthem properly.
· Recordsthedailychargesfortheitemsusedinthewardandupdatesthe patients’ charges accordingly.
· Servesmeals,preparedrinksforpatientsifneeded,andcollects trays.
· Maintainstherecordofintakeandoutputchartforeach patient.
· Lifts,turns,andpositionspatientssafelyandcomfortablyusingthecorrect Schedule and organise patient appointments for basic medical treatments such as dressing changes, nasogastric tube replacements,
· catheter changes, and glucose tests.
· Arrange and keep patient records in an organized and accessible manner.
· Transporting patients for handover and documents to the ward staff, as well as operating the theatre.
· Verifying and organizing on-call rosters for doctors, nurses, OTs, X-rays, laboratory personnel, and drivers, including ensuring the on-call board is up to date.
· Accompanies the consultant in performing procedures and rounds in the absence of trained nurses
6.Attend meetings held by the service.
