A Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist (also known as an Echo Tech) is responsible for performing non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart and blood vessels. The role involves using specialized equipment to capture high-quality images of the heart’s structure, function, and blood flow, assisting cardiologists and healthcare providers in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
•    Perform echocardiograms (ECG) and other ultrasound procedures to assess cardiac function, anatomy, and blood flow.
•    Conduct Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood vessel flow and detect abnormalities.
•    Ensure accurate and complete patient history and examination records are documented before, during, and after procedures.
•    Position patients correctly for ultrasound examinations and apply gel to the skin before performing imaging procedures.
•    Capture high-quality images and video recordings of the heart and related structures.
•    Evaluate the results of ultrasound exams and provide preliminary analysis to the supervising physician or cardiologist.
•    Maintain and operate cardiovascular ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly.
•    Educate patients about the procedures, explaining the process and any necessary preparation.
•    Follow proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
•    Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and other healthcare staff in diagnosing and planning patient care.
•    Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and hospital policies.
•    Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date with advancements in cardiovascular ultrasound technology.
Minimum

Qualifications:
- At least one year of ECHO ultrasound experience
- ARDCS/ RCS/ CCI/ RVT equivalent certified
