The Cardiovascular Technician II EKG Coordinatoris responsible forperforming a variety of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), cardiac stress testing, and Holter monitor application and removal. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care settings, ensuringaccuratedata collection and patient safety throughout all procedures. The technician works closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality cardiovascular diagnostic services.
A caregiver in this position works evenings| 3:00pm—11:30pm|primarylocation is Fairview but will cover Avon and Lutheran| weekend and holiday coveragerequired
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform 12-lead Electrocardiograms, Holter MonitorHook-Upsand Cardiac Stress Testing, including 24-hour, 48-hour, and 30-day event monitors and/or EEG testing.
Notify physicians,nursesor managers of abnormal results.
Notify secretaries of needed supplies.
Maintain/troubleshoot equipment and notify Clinical Engineering of ongoing problems that cannot be resolved.
Process test results before and following physician interpretations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
Knowledge of EKG techniques, methods,equipmentand peripheral devices sufficient to provide technical support
6 months experience as an ECG tech andsix months experience in Stress Testing preferred
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of a Cardiac Technician and/or EEG program
Credentials as an Allied Health Professional
