Cardiovascular Technician

Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Dallas, TX

The CV Technician works in our cardiovascular lab facility with quality patient care as their premier goal. The CV Technician works closely in conjunction with the Cardiologists, Echocardiograph Technician, and CV administrative staff to coordinate the daily schedule. The job duties will range from scheduling appointments, procedure preparations, and assisting Echocardiograph Technicians with Stress Echocardiography exams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) while performing all duties.
• Prepares patient for CV examination.
• Maintains confidentiality of all clientele.
• Provides and promotes a high level of customer service to internal as well as external clientele.
• Obtains baseline vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, and weight.
• Prepares, performs and assists with Stress Tests and Echocardiography exams.
• Schedules and performs 24 blood pressure monitoring and procedure monitoring.
• Takes all vital signs for CV department and Cardiologist office visits.
• Schedules patients for procedures and returns patient calls.
• Oversees and coordinates data collection for Cooper Institute usage.
• Tracks all outside cardiac catheterizations, surgical reports, and follow-ups as requested.
• Covers the CV administrative desk during any absence or time off.
• Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
• Adheres to all Clinic policies and standard operating procedures.
• Attends work in a consistent and timely manner. Must be present on-site to perform the duties of this position.
• Accomplishes other duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail skills.
• Possess problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, and strive for professionalism.
• Ability to work in group setting as well as work independently.
• Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
