Location: In-Person
Purpose of this position: Support Cardiologist with all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and operate specialized equipment including, computer systems, hemodynamic monitoring and have working knowledge of cardiac catheterization laboratory. Trains staff technologists and students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements
Monitors patient for changes in hemodynamic status and reports to physician
Maintains current knowledge/certification
Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease
Is knowledgeable about and has the ability to operate complex and sophisticated equipment related to a cardiac catheterization laboratory
Maintains catheterization laboratory equipment in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel
Maintains stock inventory and initiates orders
Performs assigned responsibilities/duties required by the cardiac catheterization laboratory
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and interdepartmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives
Maintains competencies and operates specialized equipment necessary for procedure
Performs other related duties as required, but only after appropriate training
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate from accredited school of allied health services in cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary technology, and radiography techniques
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as aRegistered Technologist
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification (RCIS) or eligible.Must obtain RCIS certification within one year of hire date
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years recent cardiac catheterization laboratory experience
An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
