Your new role

In the role of Cardiometabolic Business Unit Director, you will inspire and empower a talented team of sales and marketing professionals while shaping and executing bold strategies that unlock the full potential of Novo Nordisk’s diabetes & obesity portfolio in the local market.

In this role, you will own the go-to-market sales and HCP marketing strategy - designing it, delivering it, and driving it to success, having the opportunity to make a high-visibility, high-impact mark in a fast-growing business.

Among your responsibilities you will:

  • Building and developing a high-performing Cardiometabolic marketing and sales unit, fostering collaboration to achieve all commercial business goals.
  • Develop and implement on our commercial Diabetes & Obesity strategies to maximize the potential of our existing and future commercial portfolio
  • Strategically plan and execute product launches and strengthen brand positioning.
  • Drive business development strategies to enhance market presence and drive revenue growth, establishing Novo Nordisk as a preferred partner in diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Inspiring, coaching, and growing talent-driving culture, engagement, and personal development while acting as a role model for the NN Way and leadership principles.
  • Represent the affiliate in strategic discussions and decision-making forums.

The role is based in Lisbon and will report directly to the General Manager, being part of the affiliate Leadership Team.

The Cardiometabolic Business Unit in Portugal is dedicated to driving commercial success in Diabetes, Obesity, and cardiovascular diseases. Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for an inspiring leader with a sharp commercial mindset and a true can-do attitude, someone who thrives on empowering teams and driving meaningful impact. With your self-driven, autonomous, and agile approach, you also bring:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience commercial leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry, including both sales and marketing experience.
  • Strong multifunctional people management experience, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence senior leaders
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering impactful business results.
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain. Experience in the cardiometabolic area or broader chronic disease would be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Analytical and data-driven decision-making
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, both written and spoken
