Job Requirements:
High School Degree
May need to start IV’s
Up to 1 year experience in a related field
Responsible for performing the graded exercise testing and nuclear stress testing under the supervision of the staff R.N. The tech assists the pt. in getting ready for the test: applies electrodes, may need to take vital signs, watches the monitor, etc. Notifies R.N. for any abnormalities in heart rhythm. The tech will apply Holter monitors and assist with daily paperwork for testing department. Displays Service Excellence and has strong interpersonal skills. Cognizant of cardiac abnormalities. Will perform EKGs.
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates clinical competency.
Explain procedures, properly apply electrodes, watch the monitor during exercise and aware of any cardiac abnormalities.
Prepares room, cleans up.

Helps ensure proper testing.
Helps patients get started on time, minimizes delays if possible.
Makes the bed, stocks supplies.
May also perform EKG's, apply Holters, etc.
Performs proper protocol.
Charges, files as needed.
May assist in other cardiology duties.
Recognized emergency situations and acts appropriately.
Stays current with cardiology trends.
