Schedule Details/Additional Information:

  • 3 12 hour shifts weekly
  • 7pm-7am
  • Every third weekend rotation

Pay Range:

$19.80 - $29.70

The Cardiology Technician monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment to support safe, high-quality patient care. Ensures proper operation and maintenance of cardiovascular monitoring equipment, responds promptly to alarms, and follows established arrhythmia and telemetry protocols. Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to identify and address patient needs and medical emergencies.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED General Studies Required
  • Prior Clinical Experience in a hospital setting or successful completion of an approved EKG class

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
  • Respond appropriately to telemetry alarms and follow arrhythmia management protocols.
  • Ensure telemetry monitoring equipment is correctly applied, functioning properly, and maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate unresolved problems for repair.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on telemetry monitoring and cardiac diagnostic equipment.
  • Precept and support new telemetry technicians as needed.
  • Document procedures, enter test results, and prepare required reports.
  • Communicate patient concerns, equipment issues, and variances to nursing leadership.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, regulatory standards, HIPAA requirements, safety practices, and compliance programs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and excellent customer service while supporting the organization's mission and values.
