Medical Associates Cardiology department is hiringa Cardiac Testing & Device Clinic RN to join their team!

Our accredited Cardiology department is known for providing excellent patient care by building relationships that last. This team is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented professional that’s willing to jump in and learn. Our skilled providers and support staff work together to provide specialized services, educate patients, and work across specialties on treatment plans.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4 days a week, primarily 8:00am - 5:00pm, working about 76 hours per pay period. Flexibility is a must!

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform and assist with cardiac diagnostic testing, including exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, while monitoring patient response and ensuring patient safety.
  • Support device clinic operations through pacemaker, ICD, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device monitoring, interrogations, and patient follow-up.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, and device representatives to coordinate patient care and communicate test and device findings.
  • Collect pertinent patient health care data, perform diagnostic testing, treatments, and review medical records and confer with physician/mid-level providers to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Educate patients and their families on heart health and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their visit

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare, monitor, and educate patients undergoing cardiac stress testing, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition according to established protocols.
  • Obtain and document electrocardiograms (ECGs), vital signs, and other clinical data related to cardiac testing and device management.
  • Assist with pacemaker and implantable cardiac device evaluations, including in-office and remote monitoring workflows, documentation, and patient communication.
  • Identify and escalate abnormal test results, arrhythmias, or device concerns to the appropriate provider in a timely manner.
  • Maintain competency in cardiac monitoring equipment, stress testing systems, remote monitoring platforms, and cardiac implantable electronic device technology.
  • Collaborate with health care team according to plan of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and others. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education.
  • Document care provided, including but not limited to: interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record.
  • Facilitate reimbursement of services provided, including but not limited to: charge tickets, referrals, and insurance requirements.
  • Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings.
  • Complete all other assigned projects and duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience - Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, ECG interpretation, cardiac stress testing procedures, and patient monitoring techniques preferred. Familiarity with pacemaker, ICD, and remote cardiac device monitoring systems preferred.

Education - Valid RN licensure required.

Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills - Keyboarding skills and use of electronic equipment. Use and operate a wide variety of diagnostic and medical equipment. Use personal protection safety equipment including gloves, lab coats, gowns, goggles, and face masks/shields. ACLS/BLS required biannually.
