Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard-affiliated teaching hospital and member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a full-time capacity. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced PA or NP with a strong background in cardiac surgery and cardiothoracic critical care who is comfortable working in both the operating room and inpatient setting.
Join a collaborative cardiac surgery team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive academic medical center environment.
-First assist in cardiac surgery procedures
-Perform Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
-Provide care across the Cardiothoracic ICU and Step-Down Unit
-Perform and manage bedside procedures, including chest tube management and removal
-Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff
-Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support seamless transitions of care
-Minimum of 2 years of cardiac surgery and/or cardiothoracic ICU experience
-Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required
-First assist surgical experience required
-Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and ability to work independently
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-40-hour full-time position
-Day/Night rotation required

Physician Assistant Requirements:
Graduate of an AAPA-accredited Physician Assistant program
Current Massachusetts PA license and board certification
ACLS certification required
Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and DEA certification required
Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution
Current Massachusetts RN and APRN licensure
National board certification in NP specialty area
ACLS certification required
Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and DEA certification required
$123.00 - $128.00
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
