We are looking to add a Pediatric/Fetal Cardiac Sonographer to our dedicated team of caregivers. This position supports the growth and expansion of our Fetal Medicine Program as you would rotate through and provide care at all our Fetal Echo Clinics throughout Northeast Ohio, touching and offering a crucial service to more patients.
A caregiver in this positionworksdays, from 8:00am—430pm or 7:00am—3:30pm. On-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform high quality echocardiograms according to the IAC approved protocol and accuratelycompletereports in the pediatric outpatient and inpatient echocardiography lab, and at multiple satellite clinics.
Teach theory, instrumentation and interpretation to sonographers,fellows,and visitors.
Assistthestaffphysicians and fellows in research projects and data entry asrequired
Ensure patient care is provided ina clean, safe, quiet, and secure environment.
Render excellent patient care to patients and families
Participate in lab meetings, research studies, and quality assurance activities
Cooperate andassistin obtaining institutional,divisional,and departmental initiatives and goals.
Attend internal/departmental meetings to support educational growth and awareness.
Interactwith ultrasound vendors to evaluate new and prototype software and equipment.
Provide direct feedback andparticipatein evaluation and development of products.
Ensure equipment is operational and troubleshoots problems.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program (minimum of18-monthprogram)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Within two years from hire date, new hires must obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography in Pediatric Echo (RDCS-PE) from The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiac Credentialing International
Knowledge of m-mode, 2D and Doppler calculations, cardiac hemodynamics, and normal and complex cardiac anatomy.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years full-time pediatric echo experience OR two years adult echo experience.
Fetal echo experienceOR OB ultrasound experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to push and maneuver 500-pound equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision to normal range, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 15 pounds.
Must have reliable, independent transportation.
Must be able to drive to locations within an hour when on call.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
