Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. This position will involve rotating through various inpatient, outreach, and outside hospital assignments.

Leads and supports sonography staff and the delivery of diagnostic imaging services for pediatric and fetal patients to ensure high-quality, consistent, and patient-centered care.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides advanced cardiac ultrasound services and serves as a subject matter expert to ensure diagnostic quality, adherence to standards, and continuous improvement in imaging practices.
  • Leads and supports sonography staff by facilitating daily workflow, offering guidance, and promoting collaboration to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
  • Promotes adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards, ensuring quality, safety, and consistency in all echocardiography procedures and documentation.
  • Supports onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of team members, developing and maintaining educational resources and guidance, to maintain competencies, enhance skills, and uphold best practices.
  • Assists in managing schedules, equipment utilization, and workflow processes to optimize service delivery and patient access.
  • Serves as a liaison between sonographers, physicians, and leadership to facilitate clear communication, coordinate care, and support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and participates in initiatives that enhance patient experience, efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development to ensure practices align with current regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.

Education Requirement:

As required by listed licensure requirement.

Licensure Requirement:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult, Pediatric, and Fetal Echocardiography, required.

Certifications:

CPR certification, required.

Skills:

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience:

Three years of experience in pediatric echocardiography, required.
