Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Performs congenital transthoracic echocardiograms and generates preliminary reports. Participates in a rotating call schedule covering nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains basic understanding of congenital heart disease, cath lab interventions, surgical repairs, and complications which lead to the acquisition of high quality and diagnostic images.
  • Performs echocardiograms at various offsite clinics and local hospitals.
  • Provides training and positive mentorship to various trainees.
  • Maintains the required CMEs for pediatric echocardiography registration.
  • Participates in department quality and process initiatives.
  • Participates in various research projects.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in an applied science and a graduate from an accredited medical ultrasound school preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

  • Must be actively registered in Adult or Pediatric Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Must be actively registered in Pediatric Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within two years of hire date.

Certifications:

Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation must be maintained.

Experience:

Extensive knowledge of normal and abnormal pediatric cardiac imaging, required.
