Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Cardiac Monitor (EKG) Technician in the Central Monitoring Unit at UCLA Health, you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety and clinical care. From the Central Monitor Station, you will provide continuous observation of patients’ cardiac rhythms and other critical vital signs, serving as a key partner to the care team.

In this role, you will:

·Monitor 5-lead EKG, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, and end-tidal CO

·Recognize and interpret arrhythmias, ST-segment changes, and QT prolongation.

·Respond promptly to actionable alarms and communicate findings to nurses and physicians.

·Document patient activity, hand-off reports, and census reconciliation.

·Ensure equipment functionality and escalate issues appropriately.

Salary: $26.57 - $35.02 Hourly


Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated EKG-proficient healthcare professional with:

·Certification as an EKG Tech - preferred

·Associate degree or diploma - preferred

·Experience in 5-lead EKG monitoring using Phillips® monitor - preferred



This position could have the potential to float between the UCLA Health Santa Monica Medical Center and the UCLA Health Ronald Regan Westwood Medical Center.
