Cardiac Device Specialist
Purpose & Scope:
The Cardiac Device Specialist provides advanced patient and provider support within the VHC Health Physician Cardiology Service Line for patients with Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs), including implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, ICDs, and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) devices.
This position is responsible for the interrogation, interpretation, and programming of all CIED types in both in-person and remote monitoring settings, as well as oversight of device clinic monitoring operations.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Certification/Licensure:
IBHRE Certification required within 12 months of employment.
Acceptable certifications: Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Device Remote Monitoring Specialist (CDRMS).
BLS required upon hire. ACLS required within 6 months of employment.
