Cardiac anesthesiologist opening with state-of-the-art Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Overlooking the stunning Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a 350-bed facility that has served the people of the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. A recent addition to the VBMC campus is the distinctively shaped Patient Pavilion featuring 294 private patient rooms, a 30-room intensive care unit, a network of 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center. VBMC is part of Nuvance Health™. This regional medical center is home to the area’s first cardiothoracic surgery program located between Westchester County and Albany, NY. It also has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region.

Responsibilities
• Case assignments: Endo, general, labor and delivery, radiology, ortho, electrophysiology, GYN, vascular, neuro, uro, cardiac, thoracic, ENT, and plastics
• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements
• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician

Salary: $600K
Cardiac Stipend: $25K annually
