Job Description

The Capture Analyst supports the identification, qualification, and maturation of federal business opportunities across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive data to inform capture strategies and increase win probability (Pwin). The Capture Analyst works closely with Business Development, Proposal, and Program teams to support the full lifecycle of opportunity development—from pipeline identification through proposal submission.

Major Duties:

Pipeline Development & Opportunity Identification

  • Conduct market research to identify federal contracting opportunities aligned with organizational capabilities and NAICS codes
  • Monitor sources such as SAM.gov, GovWin, agency forecasts, and industry portals
  • Maintain and update the Business Development pipeline with accurate and actionable data
  • Support opportunity qualification using established gate review processes

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Research target agencies, buying commands, and key decision-makers
  • Analyze incumbent contractors, teaming landscapes, and competitive positioning
  • Develop SWOT analyses and competitor profiles
  • Track contract vehicles, expiring contracts, and recompete opportunities

Capture Planning Support

  • Assist Capture Managers in developing capture strategies, win themes, and call plans
  • Support development of customer engagement strategies and meeting preparation materials
  • Contribute to Black Hat sessions, competitive assessments, and price-to-win analyses
  • Document and maintain capture artifacts (capture plans, contact reports, gate reviews)

Proposal Development Support

  • Provide research and data to support proposal development (technical and management volumes)
  • Assist with development of past performance write-ups and resumes
  • Ensure alignment between capture strategy and proposal content
  • Support compliance matrices and requirements traceability

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain CRM systems (e.g., Unanet, Salesforce, GovWin) with current opportunity data
  • Generate pipeline reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership
  • Track KPIs such as pipeline value, win rates, and opportunity progression

Teaming & Partner Research

  • Identify potential teaming partners, subcontractors, and Joint Venture opportunities
  • Support due diligence efforts on partners, including capabilities and past performance
  • Assist in development of teaming strategies aligned with small business and 8(a) goals
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Government, Communications, or related field
  • 3-8 years of experience in federal business development, capture, or proposal support
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes (FAR) and contracting lifecycle
  • Experience with market research tools (SAM.gov, GovWin, FPDS, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, Federal Civilian, or Health IT opportunities
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Unanet or Salesforce
  • Knowledge of small business programs (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB)
  • Experience supporting capture within a multi-entity or shared services environment
  • Understanding of NAICS codes, contract vehicles, and IDIQ structures

Required education/experience and skills:

  • Four-year degree (or equivalent experience may be considered) in Communications, Marketing, English, Business, OR relevant BD Analyst experience
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of success working in a high-volume deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to think strategically and be detail oriented as it relates to technical approaches and solutions
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create, edit and produce documents and supporting materials
  • Experience using workflow platforms such as SharePoint a plus
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) platform (GovWin, Bidspeed, Zoho) highly preferred
  • Experience working with, and understanding, confidential company information as it relates to financial stability, industry credibility, and proprietary information

  • Hybrid work opportunity (full-time remote a possibility)
  • Frequent work performed in a climate-controlled environment
  • 25% travel will be associated with this position, an average of one trip per month to support conferences across the country
