Job Description
The Opportunity
Join an Australian leader on a mission to become the world-best. We specialise in slurry transfer products for the mineral process industry. The global majors neglect this niche – we obsess over it. We want a relentless hunter to own and drive Capital Projects for us in the West. This isn't a role for a passenger – it's for someone driven to win. You will work with design engineers and asset owners, ensuring Beaver is the default choice for the next project. Our team is there to maximise your impact. You are here to win.
The Role
This is a senior, strategic individual contributor role responsible for winning capital project packages across the Western Australian market. You will move Beaver from a ‘competitive bidder’ to a ‘preferred suppler’ through embedded specification and disciplined account coverage.
Key accountabilities include:
- Early Engagement Engage with EPCM and Mining Companies early to influence specification and design. Your mantra is: win the spec = win the project.
- Stakeholder Influence Navigate the three-way relationship between design engineers, owner’s teams, and procurement.
- Market Coverage Maintain 100% account coverage with documented strategic plans for every major EPCM and Mining Company in WA.
- Win Project Packages Lead our project package tenders, from pre-bid strategy to closing the deal.
- Preferred Partner Conversion Move from ‘Competitive Bidder’ to ‘Preferred Supplier’ via embedded specification and design plus negotiated preferred supplier arrangements.
Ideal Candidate
We want a proactive, goal-oriented hunter with a strong will to win. You are competitive, relentless, and driven to get things done. You thrive on out-smarting and out-working the competition through disciplined execution.
Character Traits
- Strong Will to Win A relentless hunter who thrives on beating the competition and winning.
- Strategic Patience The discipline to manage 12-to-36 month sales cycles.
- 100% Ownership You run your region like your own business.
- High Standards Committed to delivering results and driving business success.
Experience Required
- Technical Competence At least base-level technical knowledge in slurry piping sufficient so can discuss with client engineers how to design smarter and solve problems before they occur.
- Market Network Strong, existing relationships within the Perth EPCM community (e.g., Worley, Lycopodium, Ausenco, GRES, Hatch, Fluor, Wood, Primero, etc).
- OEM Experience Prior OEM experience in slurry transfer (pumps, valves, piping, etc.) or related products in mineral process plants or pipelines.
Ideal Profiles
- Profile 1 - The Up-and-Comer Likely 7 to 10 years of experience, currently performing at a high level but feeling restricted by corporate bureaucracy. You are looking for extra responsibility, autonomy and opportunity that matches the results you are delivering. You want a role where you can truly "hunt" and be rewarded for it.
- Profile 2 - The Seasoned Pro Likely 15 to 25+ years of experience and a veteran of the industry who carries ‘Principal’ level gravity. You are sick of the internal politics and ‘BS’ of global OEMs and want to return to a senior ‘hunter’ role with high autonomy and strong support.
What’s Special About This Role?
We move faster and hit harder than the global corporates. This role offers the chance to run WA Capital Projects for an ambitious Australian company on a global growth path.
- Vertical Integration We are an Australian company with our own vertically-integrated manufacturing. You have a direct line to the people making the product and can sell with total confidence.
- Founder-Led Speed No slow corporate bureaucracy. We make decisions in minutes that take global OEMs three weeks.
- Elite Support We have built an internal support engine for Capital Projects that is the envy of our competitors.
- No Corporate BS We focus on getting things done, winning deals, and reward those who do.
- Serious Career Path We are aggressively expanding globally. There are multiple pathways for high-performers to grow and progress as we open international markets.
