THE ROLE:

This role is part of the Capital Projects team at InnVest Hotels. The Capital Projects Analyst will be reporting to the Director, Capital Projects. The role is directly responsible for administering the capital budget process for InnVest. This includes creating and maintaining the capital budget templates, distribution, and consolidation within pre-set timelines. The position is responsible for preparing reporting for senior management and ownership as well as tracking and reporting for each of InnVest’s approved renovation projects. The analyst will act as the link for capital projects between the Capital team, Project Manager, Procurement Services, and hotel staff.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Lead the process with hotels and corporate office to generate multi-year Capital Plans
  • Communicate to stakeholders capital budget timelines and responsibilities
  • Prepare reporting for senior management and Ownership
  • Create and maintain a Capital Projects database
  • Support Systems Administrative team maintaining Quick Base
  • Coordinate with IT and other stakeholders on system enhancements, including proposing improvements, developing, testing and implementing new initiatives
  • Participate in preparing estimates of project scope, timeline, and costing
  • Prepare packages for final approval prior to work project execution
  • Coordinate communication with property managers, project managers and Capital Projects team
  • Track and report on compliance with InnVest’s internal controls
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis as required
  • Participate in proposal clarifications, contract negotiations, assembling bid packages, invoice processing and contracts
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement using new technologies, process methodologies and regular reviews of current processes
  • Ad hoc office support, to the InnVest overall team

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Academic/Education Requirements:
    • Post-secondary degree in Math, Finance, Business or Data Management
  • Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements:
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar analytic role
  • Familiar with AI tools and modelling capabilities
  • Demonstrated superior analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, multi-project work
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative in creating and refining processes and workflows
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship skills – able to build and maintain a diverse relationship base
  • Exceptional level of proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Prior experience working with QuickBase systems is an asset
  • Required to work flexible schedule depending on deadlines

Mental Effort required to perform the job:

  • Frequent mental and visual concentration during computer work, for accuracy in data entry and editing.
  • Continuously listening and mental attentiveness in dealing with customer or public queries, and Manager’s requirements.
  • Frequent mental effort is required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require constant refocusing.

Physical Effort required to perform the job:

  • Continuously requires manual dexterity speed and hand/eye coordination for daily work at a computer.
  • Periodic lifting of computer hardware and administrative materials such as laptops, physical files, binders, etc.

Responsibility for Resources:

  • Responsible for work area.
  • Responsible for confidential documents, equipment, and protocols related to the company.

Working Conditions

  • Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
  • Intermittent exposure to co-workers/clients; occasional handling of queries and calls from properties.
  • Continuously working at a home office workstation as approved by the Manager.
  • Continuously working in a climate-controlled home office.
  • Frequent meetings (in-person, virtual) to discuss various subject matter.
  • Regular working hours and frequently required to work extra hours, as required.
  • Flexible working hours, as required.
