Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Private Funds Specialist to join our Investment Product Management team. The Private Funds Specialist is a liaison between the front office relationship management staff and the accounting, compliance and operational departments supporting BBH’s private funds business. The Private Funds Specialist manages the onboarding of new investors for BBH’s proprietary private funds, responds to internal reporting, analytical and documentation requests and is responsible for the communication of investor contact information to the fund administrator. This position also drives process enhancements within the Investment Product Group related to client onboarding and internal reporting.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Relationship Management Liaison
Serve as a primary contact for the relationship management staff on private fund operational matters
Serve as a liaison among relationship management teams, accounting, risk, compliance, and operational departments supporting BBH’s private funds business
Coordinate the client on-boarding process for BBH private funds: review client questionnaires; compile client data from various sources; oversee subscription/capital call funding process; log and communicate investor redemption requests; provide reports to various internal constituencies
Handle logistics of new client portal access with administrator
Research and elevate reporting issues
Research and approve account closing approvals
Fund Administration and Support
Draft assignment agreements and coordinate processing of assignments with fund administrator
Coordinate activities associated with secondary sales of private funds
Communicate investor contact updates to fund administrator
Reporting
Respond to internal reporting, analytical and documentation requests
Coordinate data gathering for fund regulatory filings
Work with fund administrator to develop new reporting as needed
Process Enhancements
Identify processing gaps related to the onboarding and maintenance of client subscriptions in private funds, present solutions to management and work to implement solutions
Create and maintain team procedures as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience
Relevant investment or investment analysis experience; familiarity with alternative investment structures is a plus
Ability to analyze complex issues and make sound decisions
Effective collaboration and influencing skills
Knowledge of BBH products, practices, and investment philosophy a plus
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a commitment to success
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Experience with Microsoft Excel required
Unquestionable integrity and character
Working hours: between 9:00 and 17:30 (including lunch break)
