Job Title: Capital Markets Manager

Department: Capital Markets

Location: Canada (Global HQ) or US (NYC, Dallas, or Walnut Creek)

Reports To: Solid reports to the Managing Director/Head of Capital Markets - Dotted Line reports to the President of CS Powertech and VP of Strategy and Innovation.

Position Summary:

Canadian Solar is building out its newly established Capital Markets function to support the financing and monetization needs of the company’s growing business and project portfolio. The manager will be a key member of this team, working closely with the Managing Director of Capital Markets to build the processes, tools, materials and operating infrastructure required to establish a scalable Capital Markets function.

The role will provide hands-on support and ownership across all public and private debt and equity financing, 45X tax credit monetization, financial modeling and transaction execution.

Responsibilities:

• Support and manage debt and equity financings for Canadian Solar Inc. and its subsidiaries, including project-level financings for manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Thailand, and other regions supporting the U.S. manufacturing supply chain, as well as corporate-level debt and equity capital raises for business units such as e-STORAGE, Module System Solutions (MSS), and other Canadian Solar subsidiaries.
• Execute financial analysis and prepare materials, including owning project and platform financial modeling, updating financing assumptions and scenarios, and preparing financing decks, investor materials, analyses and other transaction materials.
• Coordinate financing processes and diligence, including supporting lender, investor and tax credit buyer outreach; managing information flow; coordinating internal teams and external advisors; responding to diligence requests; maintaining data rooms; and tracking open items and deliverables.
• Execute transaction workstreams through closing, including maintaining transaction trackers, coordinating documentation and closing deliverables, and managing key milestones and deadlines.
• Assist in building the Capital Markets function and establish repeatable processes, including developing and improving corporate financial models, templates, processes, trackers, data rooms, financing materials and other tools and institutional knowledge to support lender and investor outreach, diligence, financing execution and 45X monetization.
• Support and manage the monetization of 45X tax credits associated with the US Manufacturing projects.
• Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, institutional investors, rating agencies, financial advisors, and other capital markets participants.
• Regular interaction with the different business leaders such as President of CS Powertech, CEO of CS Sunshine, and CFO of Canadian Solar Inc.
• The role is intended to be a core execution and team-building resource for the newly established Capital Markets function, with responsibility for both supporting active transactions as well as helping build the internal financial institutional infrastructure and processes needed as both the team and the business continue to grow.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or other advanced qualification is a plus.
• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, treasury, private credit, project finance, or a related field.
• Experience executing debt and/or equity financing transactions.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, financial modeling, capital structures, and corporate finance.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with strong PowerPoint/presentation capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior executives and external financial institutions.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, power, infrastructure, manufacturing, or technology is preferred.
• Experience working across international markets is a plus.
