He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Capital Governance Co-ordinator to join our Finance team.

You will play a critical role in ensuring our capital governance processes run efficiently, consistently and on time. Acting as the operational backbone of governance activities across Watercare's capital portfolio, you'll coordinate submissions, manage governance workflows, support governance forums and maintain accurate, audit-ready records.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple stakeholders, thrives on coordination and administration, and takes pride in delivering high-quality governance support.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinating governance processes across business cases, approvals and change requests
  • Managing governance submission schedules, workflows and approval pathways
  • Supporting governance forums through agenda preparation, document collation, minute taking and action tracking
  • Maintaining governance records, approvals and decision registers
  • Monitoring governance timelines and following up with stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supporting business case and approval processes by coordinating documentation and submission requirements
  • Administering change control processes and maintaining approval records
  • Acting as a central point of coordination for governance activities across programmes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve governance processes, templates and tracking tools
  • Ensuring all governance documentation is complete, accurate and audit-ready

You'll be a proactive and highly organised professional who enjoys bringing structure and clarity to complex environments.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in project coordination, governance support or administration within a complex organisation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to follow and improve structured processes
  • Confidence using technology, workflow systems and document management tools.

Experience within infrastructure, utilities, capital programmes or governance environments will be highly regarded, along with familiarity with systems such as Aconex or similar document management platforms.
