Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. What will you make today?

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help support the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of supporting great products people use and love.

The Manufacturing Capacity Planning team plays a critical role in ensuring our North American Manufacturing plants have the necessary capacity to meet current and future market demand.

In this role…

You will leverage your detailed data analysis, storytelling, and collaboration skills with numerous cross-functional stakeholders to identify and mitigate capacity constraints. In this role, you will be responsible for owning capacities for your plants and programs, leading initiatives to align plant capabilities with sales requirements in the near and far time horizons.

What You’ll Do…

Capacity vs. Demand Planning:

  • Continuously assessing manufacturing capacity to ensure alignment with sales demand signals. Milestones include Monthly Production Programs, bi-annual Financial Planning Volumes (FPV) , and ad hoc what-if scenarios.

Execute Assembly and Stamping Capacity Studies

  • Execute cross-functional studies in support of new vehicle programs, breaking constraints, new assembly/stamping requirements or production volume increase/remix initiatives. Lead study development, execution with the rest of Manufacturing, and post-study approvals and funding deployment.

Execute What-If Study and/or Desktop Analysis Scenarios

  • Support vehicle program initiatives and/or engineering changes. Includes upfront study development, study creation and execution, and post- study support for purchasing vetting activity.

Operations/Manufacturing Support:

Serve as SPOC for all Manufacturing Capacity related workstreams, servicing all internal customers (Plant Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing & Sales, New Model Programs, etc.). Lead this cross functional team through problem solving and corrective actions where capacity gaps are discovered or present themselves

You’ll Have…

  • Bachelor's Degree – in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Data Analytics or Industrial Engineering
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience (coop/internship experience will be considered)

Even Better if You Have…

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Data Analytics or Industrial Engineering

  • Data Analysis & Presentation (leveraging Excel/Alteryx/Power BI or similar data management tool experience)

  • 5 more more years of relevant experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with SAP S4 Hanna

  • Demonstrated experience working with supply/demand planning systems (Kinaxis)

  • Prior tenure working in a Sales & Operating Plan (S&OP) environment

  • Process improvement/problem-solving skills
