St Francis Xavier College is a large 7 -12 comprehensive Catholic secondary school which has served the people of Canberra for nearly 50 years. The Canteen Assistant plays an important role in delivering a welcoming, efficient, and high-quality food service experience to our school community. The successful applicant will assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages, including hot and cold drinks, while maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment. The role involves supporting daily canteen operations through stock management, receiving and checking deliveries, storing supplies appropriately, and ensuring serving areas remain well stocked and presentation-ready. The Canteen Assistant provides friendly and responsive service to students, staff, and visitors, works collaboratively with teachers, students, and volunteers involved in canteen activities, and contributes to a safe workplace by adhering to food safety requirements and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures at all times.
This appointment is temporary to replace an employee on leave.
