Our Exploration division is growing, and we are looking for an Exploration Safety, Health and Security Lead to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, governing and driving continuous improvement in Safety, Occupational health, Environmental, and Community (SHEC) policies, standards, procedures and management systems for exploration activities across Canada.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all exploration activities in Canada are conducted in full compliance with corporate health and safety standards, as well as applicable federal, provincial, and local regulatory requirements.
- Plan, lead, and participate in Management Assurance Reviews (MARs), internal audits, and field-based safety inspections across Canadian exploration projects.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System for exploration activities.
- Oversee the deployment and effectiveness of Fatal Risk Management processes and Life-Saving Controls relevant to exploration operations.
- Foster and embed a strong, proactive safety culture aimed at incident-free exploration activities.
- Design, implement, and deliver safety leadership, emergency response, and risk management training programs for employees and contractors.
- Review, analyze, and report monthly safety and health performance metrics for both company personnel and contractors.
- Reduce the probability and potential impact of incidents associated with high-risk exploration and contractor activities through effective risk identification, assessment, and control.
- Lead the implementation of occupational health programs, including industrial hygiene, health surveillance, and preventative health initiatives.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development and tracking of corrective and preventative action plans.
- Own the Drilling Standard at Canada Exploration – implementation and monitoring
- Own the emergency response plans at Canada Exploration
- Own the light vehicle standard at Canada exploration – implementation and monitoring
- Own the training and competence matrix at Canada Exploration
- Perform other duties as assigned
Environmental Requirements/ Considerations:
- Propose and update the documents related to the SGA related to the areas of its competence.
- Participate in the identification or update of environmental aspects and impacts, as well as comply with the monitoring of environmental controls, measurement and verification mechanisms associated with environmental management that correspond to them.
- Participate in the identification of opportunities for improvement in activities related to the SGA.
- Ensure that the operational procedures in their charge are correctly applied.
- Provide information derived from the environmental management that falls on the position.
- Participate in environmental training activities when required, in coordination with their hierarchical supervisors.
- Communicate to the environmental area those events that constitute environmental incidents according to the current procedures, as well as participate in the investigation of them, contributing to the formulation of action plans.
- Carry out the tasks and works in accordance with the Environmental Policy and the guidelines of the Environmental Management System.
- Report environmental incidents and formulate corrective, preventive or mitigating measures, as appropriate.
- Participate in the corresponding environmental training activities.
- Cooperate and contribute to the overall success of the Environmental Management System by actively participating in its activities
