OneSchool Global Nelson Campus is looking for a committed Student Support Assistant (Teacher Aide) to join our team. This role focuses on supporting students, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with students requiring high needs learning or behavioral support.
About the Role:
• Work with a small group of students and on an individual basis throughout the day.
• Support students with their independent learning across a range of subjects.
• Assist in keeping students engaged, motivated, and on track with their learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure the best support strategies are in place.
• Support Year 10 students with learning, neurodiverse students with ADHD
• Create strategies to engage students in the Study.
• Support with planning, learning and behaviour.
What We’re Looking For:
• A caring and patient approach with a passion for helping students succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic and patient approach to their support
• Ability to work independently while following structured learning plans.
• Previous experience working with students who have learning challenges, specifically secondary level (Year 7-13) is desired but not essential.
Role Details:
Hours: 24 hours per week, starting at 8:30 am (Monday – Thursday)
Weeks: This role is a 40 weeks per annum position. School holidays off.
Start Date: Term 3, 2026
Role Type: Fixed Term Contract until 11th December 2026, with possibility to be renewed.
Location: Nelson Campus, OneSchool Global NZ
