Job Description
The Campus Pastor (CP) serves as the primary leader and shepherd of their campus, ensuring that the vision and core values of Crosstown Alliance are reproduced at their location. The CP is responsible for caring for, and equipping, a Christ-centered community where people can discover, develop, and display full devotion to Jesus Christ.
Areas of Responsibility
Leadership & Vision
- Lead and oversee my campus as an extension of our overall church, ensuring that Crosstown Alliance’s vision, values, and systems are reproduced at the campus.
- Develop a strong leadership and volunteer structure by recruiting and training key leaders who will oversee campus ministries.
- Lead the Campus Leadership Team (CLT) to support and strengthen the campus’ ministry, especially the big three environments—Sunday Services, Small Groups, and Serve Teams
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to set clear, measurable, and strategic goals that drive the campus forward for greater Kingdom impact.
Sunday Worship Service
- Help create an engaging and distraction-free Sunday morning environment where people can discover Jesus and take their next step of faith.
- Oversee all aspects of the worship service, including: (1) Partnering with ministry leaders to ensure their volunteers are equipped, supported, and effectively serving in their roles. (2) Hosting the service (i.e., connection card talk, announcements, prayer, etc.); (3) Creating an intentional space and opportunity to connect with first-time guests and ensure they feel welcomed and valued.
- Be available to preach as needed at the request of the Lead Pastor.
Discipleship & Spiritual Growth
- Cultivate a culture of discipleship by connecting people to small groups, encouraging deeper engagement with Scripture (i.e., Bible reading and prayer plans), and giving opportunities for intercessory prayer.
- Recruit, equip, and support campus volunteers and leaders—especially small group leaders and the Campus Leadership Team.
- Offer pastoral care and biblical counsel to those attending your campus.
- Commit to prayer and the Word (Acts 6:4) as you lead and disciple others
Staff & Ministry Development
- Attend staff meetings and any additional meetings scheduled by the Lead Pastor.
- Provide ongoing training, feedback, and support to your campus staff (e.g., part-time children’s, student ministry, and worship leaders), helping them build strong volunteer teams and grow their ministries.
- Work alongside the other pastors to exchange ideas, collaborate on ministry initiatives, and encourage one another in the Lord.
Pastoral & Administrative Duties
- Fulfill additional pastoral responsibilities, including: Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms, Child dedications, Counseling
- Take on other ministry-related tasks as needed to support and advance the mission of the church.
Requirements
- Agree with Crosstown’s vision, values, and statement of beliefs.
- Meet the biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Willingness to be licensed and ordained through the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
- Demonstrate a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Be a flexible, teachable team player with a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong shepherding gifting, with a heart for caring for and discipling people.
- Experience in church leadership or ministry in a para-church organization.
- Desire to lead people far from God into a life-changing relationship with Christ.
- Passion for helping Christians understand, apply, and live out the truths of Scripture.
- Proven ability to build and lead healthy volunteer teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
- Strong time and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and stay organized.
- Competence in handling basic administrative tasks and utilizing technology to streamline processes.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
