The Campus Pastor (CP) provides leadership and oversees all ministry operations of the campus. The CP is the campus leader andis responsible forthe planning, preparation, coordination, and execution ofBattleCreekChurch campus ministries and events.   The CP oversees outreach to thechurchedand the un-churched in the context of the geographical location and community of each campus.  The CP will execute the mission, vision, and values of The Executive Team within the context of their location. The CP will serve asshepherdfor the congregation and staff of their respective campus.  

Your Day-to-Day

Every day looks different, buthere’sa snapshot of whatyou’llbe up to:

• Builds relationships with people by connecting them to Christ, the church, their ministry in the church andmission in the world.

• Recruits, coaches, trains andempowersvolunteer leaders to build effective teams andaccomplishthe mission ofBattleCreekChurch.

• Partners with leadership teams at the campus and with teams that support the campus to ensurestandards of excellence are in place and are implemented.

• Main stage communicator as Worship Services, occasionally as a teacher (depending on gift mix).

• Coordinatesother special projects andperformsother duties as directed.

• Set realistic and goal driven budgets in line with vision and consistentlyoperatewithin those limits and focus on cost containment.

• Establish organizational driven goals for department and subordinates anddirectstheir annual fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Directs strategy, planning, forecasting,staffingand succession planning in consort with Executive Team and/or Pastor’s Council.

• Consistent in rewards and/or discipline and in the application of policies and procedures.

• Personally, continuouslyimprovesand leads others to do the same in line with goals and core values.

• Supervises and oversees assigned department staff ensuring level ofalentin subordinate positions.

• Understand basic employment laws and ways to protect the organization through minimizing liability.Consults with Human Resources.

WhatWe’reLooking For

The must-haves for this role:

• Education & Experience:Weare looking forsomeonewith aBachelor’sdegree and Seminarydegree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred (but it is not a requirement)and atleast 5 years’ experiencepreferred.Having experience in a multi-site environment is an added plus!

• Skills & Strengths:We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoy building relationships and havea high levelof customer service.

• Have excellent time management.

• Bilingual is a plus.

• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally isrequired, up to 30%travel.

• Ability to navigate working withteamfrom various countries and cultures.

TheEssentials

Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may berequired—it’sall part of ministry life!

This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, orprepping forevents—sometimes even late at night.Don’tworry;we’llensure you know what to expect!
