Data & Technology Summer Associate (Summer 2027, Los Angeles)

As a Data & Technology Summer Associate at Capital Group, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting one of the teams that leverages data, analytics, and technology to drive business outcomes across Capital Group. Through meaningful work, coaching, mentorship, and collaboration with professionals across the firm, you'll strengthen your analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills while developing a deeper understanding of how data and technology support a global investment management organization.

The Summer Associate Program provides experience within one of the business areas represented in the full-time Data & Technology Track of the Capital Group Rotational Program, a two-year rotational experience that provides exposure to multiple data, analytics, and technology functions through rotational assignments and professional development opportunities. High-performing Summer Associates may be considered for conversion into the full-time Data & Technology Track of the Capital Group Rotational Program upon graduation.

What You'll Do

Summer Associates are placed on a specific team for the duration of the program, providing meaningful experience within one of Capital Group's data and technology-focused functions. Opportunities may be available in areas such as:

• Data & Analytics: Leverage business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and visualization tools to support decision-making and business outcomes
• Data Science: Apply advanced analytics, modeling, and quantitative approaches to generate insights and solve business challenges
• Digital Products & User Experience: Support the development of digital tools, platforms, and user-focused solutions that enhance business and client experiences
• Data Strategy & Solutions: Contribute to enterprise data initiatives and help translate business needs into data-driven solutions
• Additional Data & Technology Functions: Support teams driving innovation, analytics, and technology transformation across the firm

Across these teams, Summer Associates may analyze complex datasets, build reports and visualizations, support digital product or data initiatives, evaluate business requirements, and help develop data-driven solutions that inform decision-making and improve business outcomes. Summer Associates also participate in professional development and networking opportunities throughout the program.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking individuals who are analytical, collaborative, and excited about using data and technology to solve problems and create value. Successful candidates demonstrate:

• Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and a commitment to continuous growth and development
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and approach complex challenges thoughtfully

• Interest in leveraging data, analytics, technology, and emerging tools to drive innovation and business outcomes

• Foundational experience with analytical, quantitative, or technical skills through coursework, projects, internships, research, or extracurricular activities
• Familiarity with data visualization, reporting, business intelligence, or analytical tools
• Foundational programming experience (e.g., Python, SQL, R, Spark, or similar technologies) and an interest in continuing to build technical skills

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0, 3.75/5.0, or equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States without need for sponsorship now or in the future
• Degree in a quantitative, analytical, technology, engineering, mathematics, data science, computer science, economics, statistics, finance, information systems, or related field preferred

Hourly Rate: $35.50

Summer Location: Los Angeles, California

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
